From Clint Parks:
I had someone ask me a few nights ago, "what's your story?"
My dad and Willie Nelson were my musical heroes. My father is a brilliant musician and incredible singer and listening to Willie records, I taught myself how to play guitar, along with watching dad. Music was at my house all day and all night. In 2002 i was signed to capital records with dad, "The Parks". We stayed at capital for 3 years and never had a song get off the shelf. The president of the label signed us but due to A&R we never had the support we thought we deserved. After 3 years, we finally asked off the label. We stuck with it and 1 year later we got signed to Lyric Street Records. Once again the president of the label signed us for what we did and what we did was always try to stay true to ourselves and do the kind of music we felt. And once again we battled with A&R department. We finally resolved our problems and decided on a single that we were gonna put out.  We started on our radio tour journey. After a couple of months touring the U.S. and a few weeks from our first single being put out, we get flown home only to tell us that the entire label was being shut down. This was an absolute kick in the nuts. Us,  along with 10 or so other artists all lost their record deal. From that day forward I swore off the industry. I played clubs for the next 8 years, 4 or 5 nights a week. I let Nashville get the best of me and it caused me to think thoughts that I never thought was possible in my mind. Music and family is my life and music row was trying to tear apart both of them. Nashville had beaten me down to my fucking socks. One of my best friends Ward Davis came along and told me to come join his band. Man and I'm so happy I did. Ive gotten to meet so many friends through this journey, in less than a year! Ward,Greg, and guys like Cody Jinks have fired a lightning bolt up my ass. And with the love and support of my wife and family, im in a better spot than I believe ive ever been.
